AI Intake for law firms

The 2 AM inquiry hires whoever answers first.

Legal problems don't keep office hours. AI Intake answers every inquiry in seconds, says it's an AI assistant and not a lawyer, captures the facts and conflict-check details you need, and books the consultation into Clio or your calendar. Your attorneys approve every word it says.

I was rear-ended on the turnpike Friday. The other driver's insurance keeps calling me. Do I need a lawyer?
I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I'm the firm's AI intake assistant, not a lawyer, so I can't give legal advice, but I can get you in front of an attorney who can. Were you hurt, and have you seen a doctor?
Neck and back pain. I went to urgent care Saturday.
Thank you, that helps. What's your full name, and has anyone from the insurance company taken a recorded statement from you yet?
Jordan Ellis. No statement yet.
Got it, Jordan. I can book a free consultation with one of our injury attorneys Monday at 9:30 AM or 1:00 PM. Which works?

The leak

Where firms lose cases they never saw.

Clio secret shop, 2024

Only 40% answered the phone

When Clio secret-shopped 500 firms, 40% answered the phone and 33% answered email. 48% neither answered nor called back. Source

Nights & weekends

Inquiries outside office hours

Accidents, arrests and family emergencies happen at night. A voicemail greeting invites the caller to try the next firm on the list.

Follow-up gaps

Consults that never get scheduled

Leads who said “let me think about it” rarely hear back, so a promising matter goes to the firm that followed up.

AI Intake

What we build for your firm.

  • Pages only where your site falls short. Plain-language practice-area pages in attorney-approved language, written to be cited by AI search, when your current site can't carry the intake
  • An intake agent trained on your criteria. It gathers the facts you need, screens for practice area, jurisdiction and the incident-date windows you define, and routes the rest politely
  • Consults booked, matters opened. Qualified callers get a consultation slot, and your practice management system gets a new matter with the intake summary
  • Follow-up that names the responsible attorney. Attorney-approved reminders and confirmations that identify the firm, the responsible attorney and the office in every message

Built for professional responsibility.

Bar opinions now address intake chatbots directly, and Oregon's 2026 opinion treats the vendor as someone the lawyer must supervise. We give your firm what it needs to do that.

No legal advice

The agent says it's an AI assistant and not a lawyer, asks factual questions only, and never predicts outcomes or promises representation (Florida Bar Op. 24-1; ABA Op. 512).

Attorney-approved language

A named attorney approves the knowledge base, scripts and follow-ups before launch and after every change.

Conflict-check ready

Intake captures the party names and details your conflict check needs before a consult is booked.

Ad rules in every follow-up

Texts and emails that encourage hiring name the firm, a responsible attorney and an office (the California SB 37 standard, applied everywhere).

Flat fees, no lead selling

We never charge per lead or per signed case, and the firm is named as the sender of every message (Colorado SB 26-174).

A diligence pack you can file

System description, data flows, retention, test results and a change log, updated yearly, for your vendor-supervision duties.

How we prove it

FAQ

AI Intake FAQ.

Or ask Pixel. It's the same kind of agent we'd build for you, and it will hand you to a person if you ask.

Talk to a person
Does the agent give legal advice?

No. It gathers facts and books consultations, and it says clearly that it is an AI assistant and not a lawyer. Anything that calls for legal judgment goes to your attorneys.

How do you handle bar advertising rules?

Advertising and solicitation rules differ by state, so we write the agent's language with your firm and a named attorney approves it before launch. Follow-ups name the firm, a responsible attorney and an office. We leave out testimonials, guarantees and outcome claims unless your firm has cleared them.

Can it screen out cases we don't take?

Yes. You define the criteria (practice areas, jurisdictions, case types, incident-date windows), and the agent routes non-fits to a polite response or a referral resource you choose.

Does it integrate with Clio or other practice software?

We connect to common practice management and intake platforms where they offer API access, so new matters arrive with the intake summary attached. If you already use Clio Grow AI or Lawmatics, we can configure that instead of replacing it. We confirm your setup during the analysis.

Do you charge per lead or per case?

No. Law firms pay flat, published fees. Per-lead or per-matter pricing can raise referral-fee questions under bar rules, and Colorado now bans paid third-party legal lead generation.

What does it cost?

A Proof Sprint is $1,500, runs against a written target and is credited to the Build. Builds start at $6,000, and you can spread the balance over 12 months. Plans start at $500 a month for Care and $1,500 for Grow, plus $500 for the Compliance Pack, and the 3× rule decides which plan we propose. Plans are month-to-month after the first 90 days.

How will we know it's working?

Your monthly report shows inquiries answered within 5 minutes, qualified consults booked, consult show rate and consult-to-retainer conversion, all from your practice-management system. The Proof Sprint sets the first written target, and nothing we charge varies with leads or matters.
